Stephen Edwin King is an American author on horror, supernatural, suspenseful, crime, science fiction, and fantasy novels. His books have sold more than 350 million copies and many have been adapted into movies, TV series, mini-series and comic books. King has published 62 novels, including 7 under the pseudonym Richard Bachman and 5 non-fiction. He also wrote around 200 short stories, most of which were published in book collections. King has received the Bram Stoker Awards, the World Fantasy Awards and the British Fantasy Society Awards. In 2003, the National Book Organization awarded him a medal for his outstanding contributions to American literature. He has also received awards for his contributions to literature throughout his yearbook, such as the Fantasy World Award for 2004 Life Achievement and the 2007 Grand Master Award for Mystery.
